Boynton Beach FL @ Canyon Isles For Immediate Release

Today was a special day at Hoop Du Jour Basketball.

Bulit Personal Training and Development was on hand to work with a few of our hard core ballers.

We focused on footwork and lateral movement.

When Brent and Debra brought out the Parachute, the kids went crazy.

They have seen some of their favorite Professional Athletes partake in this type of training drill and now they were going to take part.

All in all it was a terrific day of training, the 90+ degree weather really made us work that much harder.

Thank you Gatorade for keeping us hydrated :).

Boynton Beach FL @ Canyon Isles For Immediate Release

The HDJ ELITE Basketball Camp is underway and each and every player on the roster is pushing one another.

Only the best of the best are invited to the ELITE camp and I am proud to say that the progress to date has been amazing.

Today we were lucky to have Mr. Brent Drill and his lovely assistant Deborah Lima of BUILT Personal Training and Conditioning.

Brent who is a award winning Personal Trainer worked with our team on a variety of drills geared at speed, agility and focus.

All of our players enjoyed learning differant techniques of fitness which will help their overall game.

When it came down to our daily scrimmage it was all about finishing.

The final score was 25-24 in overtime; Josh E hitting a driving layup to earn the victory.

I am so proud of this team as we are coming into the warm weather.

Every player is giving it their all and working hard as the conditions are getting tough.

Strength and conditioning plays a major role in the outcomes of games and it is defineatly showing on the court..

Lastly, the Dribble Times have been scorching; I guess the hard work is paying off :)

Thank you BUILT Personal Training for all of your guidence, knowledge and professionalism..

I Cant wait for tomorrow to serve up my "Daily Dose" of Hoop Du Jour.

Fall Session Sept 20, 2014

Boynton Beach FL @ Canyon Isles For Immediate Release

Today's camp was one of the most rewarding sessions.

Everyone came to play hard today and we're eager to learn the proper way to play the game of basketball.

Due to last weeks on and off rain drizzle, we really focused on working our fundamentals.

We worked on our Foul Shooting, (because they WIN games) Rebounding the ball under duress, (rapid release) Breakaway Layups, Moving without the ball and our Defensive positioning.

It is so important to develop the fundamentals for all aspects of the game.

Without knowledge and understanding on how to succeed, we will never reach Our Goals.

Highlights:

We welcomed two new players to the roster; Alex & Max P.

Both Faith and Alex really burned rubber in the Dribble Times Relay, 11:44.

Zoe and Faith partnered up to form a Dynamic Duo of Girl Power!

Tyler M continued his all around solid play.

Brother combo of Preston and Cameron really were determined to Win.

Thanks to Under Armour for providing our Team with Hoodie Sweatshirts for everyone.

It's my pleasure to serve up a dialy dose of Hoop Du Jour.

Boynton Beach FL @ Canyon Isles For Immediate Release

It's so good to be back on court serving up my "daily dose" of Hoop Du Jour.

Theres alweays a certain magical feeling on Opening Day" and this one didnt disapoint.

For the first time in HDJ history, we were called off the courts due to Lightning.

Ive played and coached/taught under many a stormy day where the  rain made things wet and wild...however Lightning is no joke.

We went into the lockeroom and made the best of it with a few Taps drills, NBA trivia and an early Prize competition.

Highlights:

Tyler Sirota and Alex Glazer battled it out for the Triva challenge game.

Rocco and Alex went head to head and Preston Swadkins brought his toughness to the games.

As always Papa Johns Pizza and Gatorade were well represented.

Each Player recieved his Spalding Basketball, HDJ T Shirt and a host of other goodies.

Next week we will be adding some additional players to the roster and I cany wait to get our Team together in full mode.

Until then, keep practicing and remember "Foul Shots Win Games"
